David Friedland

David Friedland

David R. Friedland is President of Magnum U.S. Investments, Inc., which serves as a consultant to a number of funds of funds and hedge funds, as well as a number of banks and institutions. Magnum U.S. Investments, Inc. tracks, evaluates and combines hedge funds into funds of hedge funds to meet specific risk/return criteria for high net worth individuals and institutional clients. He is also president of the general partner of the Magnum funds of hedge funds, and Magnum-sponsored single manager hedge funds available to U.S. taxable investors. Magnum has been involved in the hedge fund industry since 1994.

Founder and Manager of Kaizen Management, LLP

David built and ran oil and gas exploration companies for nearly 30 years. In 2002, the public company of which he was Executive Chairman was sold. In 2003 he formed Houston based Kaizen. Kaizen is the manager of a domestic and an offshore fund that have parallel investments. These funds are weighted to the energy and mining & minerals spaces. The funds’ investments are highly concentrated with a continuous loop, bottom-up, “boots on the ground” due diligence approach. The domestic fund has just realized its eighth anniversary and has returned 763% net to partners over that time, which is a 30.9% annualized rate of return. Kaizen is a Japanese word meaning, “the culture of sustained, orderly, continuous improvement."


Steve Michael

Steve Michael
Managing Partner, Stonehenge Asset Management, LLC

Steve Michael began his career as a Yield curve trader and bond basis trader beginning in 1986. He was a member of CBOT and CME. He left in 1991 to run global foreign exchange trading of a UK investment bank. He had $35 Billion in settelment lines while at the bank. After leaving the foreign exchange side of the business in 2000, he started a Macro fund with the head macro analyst at Soro’s Quantum Fund. Steve lectures extensively at commodity and hedge fund conferences throughout Asia and the US. He currently runs a Commodity Trading Advisor and a Commodity Pool. The diversified futures and Forex fund is called Stonehenge Diversified I, LLC. This fund is a multi class diversified short term quanative strategy which seeks returns in 17 US exchange traded futures, off exchange forex, and soon will include global exchange traded futures in Asia and Europe. Cortland fund administrators is the administrator for both Stonehenge Asset Management, LLC the “CPO”, and Stonehenge Capital Management, LLC the “CTA”.


Mike Williams

Founder & President, Access Fund Management, LLC (AFM)

Mr. Williams is Founder and President of AFM. Mike has unique expertise in financial product development. AFM offers four multi-strategy funds and does custom design portfolios for High Net Worth Investors. In the Private Placement Insurance arena, where AFM focuses a great deal of attention, Mr. Williams is able to innovatively provide clients with access to AFM’s multi-manager combinations on a very tax efficient basis. Mr. Williams held management roles from 1990 until 2002 with Western Reserve Life Assurance Company or Ohio (WRL), an AEGON USA business unit. Mr. Williams began his financial services career with Aetna in 1973, specializing in advanced marketing prior to purchasing an independent insurance agency, and then subsequently establishing an SEC registered Broker/Dealer. Mr. Williams is a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a degree in Business Management. Mike holds a Series 66 license in the state of Florida.


Kevin G. Simpson
President & CIO, Capital Wealth Planning, LLC

Kevin Simpson has been the President and Chief Investment Officer of Capital Wealth Planning, LLC since 2005. Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kevin has been a licensed financial consultant since 1992. Kevin specializes in helping institutions and high-net worth individuals plan and achieve their financial goals through option strategies. As a graduate of The George Washington University majoring in Finance, Kevin applies institutional investment management strategies to diversified equity and option portfolios. Mr. Simpson has served on many government and non-profit boards in Pennsylvania and Florida. He has taught classes and lectured on investment topics throughout many states. He has also been a published author of countless newspaper and magazine articles. Kevin has previously held a series 7 license, a series 63 licence, a Life and Health License, and is completing a Certified Financial Planning Designation at the American College. He currently holds his series 65.
