Danielle Jansen is a partner at Alaris Trading Partners, LLC. She has been in the business for over 10 years, providing trading software and prime brokerage to hedge funds and institutions. She was recently appointed as Co-Director of HFA's West Coast Chapter.

David R. Friedland is President of Magnum U.S. Investments, Inc., which serves as a consultant to a number of funds of funds and hedge funds, as well as a number of banks and institutions. Magnum U.S. Investments, Inc. tracks, evaluates and combines hedge funds into funds of hedge funds to meet specific risk/return criteria for high net worth individuals and institutional clients.

Christopher Smith

Founder, Ivy Street Capital Management

Co-Director, HFA West Coast Chapter


Christopher Smith is the founder and managing director of Ivy Street Capital Management, a hedge fund based in Newport Beach, CA which specializes in distressed situations. The fund seeks to obtain long and short capital appreciation through investment in illiquid and distressed assets. He was also recently appointed as Co-Director of HFA's West Coast Chapter.

Frank Stanley

Principal, Global Wealth Analytics


Frank Stanley has extensive experience in conducting commodity market research and system development for over 13 years. Mr. Stanley is a listed principal of Global Wealth Analytics, Inc. which has been registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as a Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) since March 2007.

Chris Brown

Founder, Aristides Capital


Chris Brown is the founder of Aristides Capital. The firm’s approach to investing relies upon systematic methods, such as the small cap quantitative strategy, and opportunistic methods, such as various forms of arbitrage when premia are favorable. Aristides’ risk management is influenced by mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot.

Markus Faliano is Vice President of Business Development for the iVelocity Fund and Managing Partner for Tien Capital Holdings. The iVelocity Fund is a small cap growth hedge fund headquartered in Irvine, CA. The portfolio manager who has earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation has consistently outperformed his benchmark since 2003.

Managing Partner & CIO, Hovan Capital Management

 

Kurt S. Hovan is a co-founder of Hovan Capital Management, LLC, chief strategist for its alternative investment products, and risk manager of the HCM Market Neutral Fund, LP and its multi-strat sub-manager strategy. His career has garnered him experience in quantitative risk management, hedge fund portfolio construction, and marketing.

Joseph E. Baratta

Founder, TBIG Financial Services

 
Joseph E. Baratta is an entrepreneur who began his career as a researcher and Industrial/Organizational Psychologist. He founded TBIG Financial Services, a high wealth portfolio management company, in 1994. He is a registered Investment Advisor with the SEC.

Ronald J. Lee
Chief Investment Officer, Lee Capital


Ron Lee began his career as an international banker for the Bank of America. After he received his MBA, he joined Sutro & Co. as a licensed stockbroker in 1975. Ron later founded Lee Capital Management in 1989. He is a member of the Certified Financial Analysts Society of Los Angeles and the Association for Investment Management & Research (AIMR).

Chester “Chet” White

Managing Partner, Founder, Griffin Fund


Chester “Chet” White is the Managing Partner & Founder of the Griffin Fund, LP. His career has focused on investing in and advising small capitalization technology companies. He has identified and directed institutional capital towards many emerging technology leaders.
